Clifton Robinsons Women’s Head Coach

 

After eight successful seasons as the women’s Head Coach Steve Rixon has decided to move into the newly created role at Clifton Robinsons as ‘Director of Performance Coaching’. 

In this new role Steve will be responsible for developing and promoting a performance coaching ethos throughout the club, with a focus to support the men’s and women’s performance squads.

With this notice we begin the recruitment process to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Head Coach to lead our senior women’s squad from the end of this season (2018-19).

The women’s 1’s squad currently includes senior, junior and ex-international players alongside a very committed and talented group, hungry to keep improving at the top of our domestic game; we play in the Investec Women’s Premier Division.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the continued success and development of all aspects of technical and performance deliveryfor this squad.

 

You will have relevant hockey experiencetogether with a current DBS disclosure and First Aid Certificate. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and relevant experience in the following areas:

• tactical knowledge to deliver results

• planning specific sessions to maximise contact time

• coaching science and best practice

• athlete preparation

• performance analysis

We are looking for an ambitious coach with a winning mentality underpinned by a high level of motivation. You’ll be eager to embrace a learning environment and continue to develop your own coaching capability. The squad trains twice each week and competes at w/ends. It is expected the Head Coach will be at all sessions and all matches.

We also anticipate your abilities would include:

• Coaching, developing, motivating and empowering others

• working collaboratively within a team as well as autonomously

• setting standards that encourages everyone to achieve improved performances

You will be an effective communicator, with the ability to engage, consult, liaise and influence, colleagues and athletes and show an understanding of appropriate professional relationships with athletes and staff
