A well rested and heavily spirited Robbies side ventured into the town of Cheltenham more commonly know for its outstanding horse racing venue rather than its elite standard of hockey.

Fueled by a combination of Jelly Babies and Nick’s changing room bangers we entered the first quarter strong. Some liquid hockey followed with periods of domination throughout the opening 35. Fraser set us up playing what can only be described as a Pep Guardiola style of play from the boys. This shocked the sluggish Cheltenham side leaving the chaps from Clifton with complete first quarter domination.

Shortly following this and a quick hydration stop, Robbies were clinical and took the lead courtesy of Ollie King, who once again provided a display of utter class and stayed calm to slot the only goal of the game home.

Positivity and a can do attitude flourished in the Robbies camp with some unbelievable spells of play creating chances left right and centre. The conversion of chances however was a little sub-par compared to the usual clinical finishing Clifton can display.

Despite the disappointing score line, the three points were gladly received as the Men’s 1s aim for a top half finish.

Looking forward to next week, we host Isca at the home of hockey (Clifton College Sports Ground) we would openly invite all sports fans and Robbies ultras to come show support for the 1s as we aim to finish the season strong.

See you all 2pm sharp this Sunday!
