Gents

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the Festive Season, but you’re now ready to get back to hockey – AND TRAINING!!

Men’s Training is to restart on Tuesday 7th January – and ALL sections are to train at CLIFTON COLLEGE for this first session.

The 1s & 2s will look to train on half pitch from 6:30 to 8:00 (be there early to warm up!)

Club Training will be from 7:00 to 8:30 (not to the normal 9pm) on the other half of the pitch.

1s & 2s will restart Thursday Training as normal, at Clifton College on Thursday 9th Jan.

GOOD LUCK FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON

L1s New "One Design" Grays Kit - Nov 2019

M1s New "One Design" Grays Kit - Nov 2019

The efforts and pain of sorting new kit was rewarded as both the Men’s 1s and Ladies 1s win their first games in the New “One Design” kit provided by our Kit Supplier Grays.

The Ladies won 3-2 in the Investec Women’s National League Premier against Loughborough Students; the Men won 3-1 v Team Bath Buccs A – see Smifsports Photagraphy on Facebook etc!

As all teams won their county rounds all teams will now progress onto regional finals to be held early next early.

This is a terrific start for our younger juniors for the 2019/2020 season. We wish them all the best in the finals!

Don’t forget to send any photos of your successes to communications@cliftonrobinsons for us to share on our social media pages.

Avon Champtions 2019

The course consists of an hour in the classroom followed by practical training/coaching whilst umpiring games during the afternoon.

This course is ideal for youngsters aged 13-17 years who are interested in starting to umpire and also for those parents who spend time on the side lines watching their children playing who would like to be more involved. Learning to umpire and then umpiring games is also excellent way to complete the ‘Skills’ section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Clifton Robinsons is always looking for umpires to help umpire games, so this is your chance to help your club!

To book your place, please register through England Hockey via the link below:

Click here for link to umpire course

Deadline 12th October 2019. England Hockey will then send you a link to complete the online rules test prior to the course.

The event, hosted by Clifton Robinsons, in conjunction with England Hockey, is an opportunity for all members of the Clifton Robinsons Family, to get together and have a day of relaxed fun hockey & games and as always is an excuse to eat and drink lots of food!

This year the sun was out and we basked in temperatures of around 25 degrees. Thank you to our two social secretaries Matt and Tara with help from last year’s secretary Jen, who put so much hard work into organising the day, which included: splat the rat, soak the coach, fun games and activities and of course a BBQ! Thank you also to Pete from Smyth Sports Photography for coming along to capture all the fun on camera.

Around 30 kids joined in the fun hockey games, which were mixed abilities, and even some parents wielded a stick or two!

We hope you all had fun.

#Watchyour1s , is a new national campaign by The Hockey Paper to promote domestic club hockey in the UK. The campaign, which runs during September and ties in with Englands  #hockeyfest, aims to get as many people as possible involved in watching & supporting club hockey.

We at Clifton Robinsons think this is a great idea and are fully backing the campaign.

How can you get involved?

Simple – below is a list of the home matches our Ladies and Men’s 1s are playing.  We want all our members and anyone who is interested in watching some quality hockey locally, to come and support of 1st teams. Youngsters at the club can also get involved by acting as ball patrols at home.

Spectators will be able to see players like x and x in action, who have represented England at x …….

Ladies 4s winners of Avon Invitation Tournament

Well done to our Ladies 4s, who brought home Clifton Robinson’s first Trophy of the season.

Our Ladies took part in the Avon Invitiation Tournament, on Sunday 15th September, held at Clifton College Sports ground. It turned out to be a very hot sunny day, but that didn’t deter our ladies from powering on through to take the win over Westberries in the final.

Player of the match went to Harriet Sylvester. Thank you to everyone who came and supported.
