A sad start to the season with our first loss of the season. The UWE side was extremely strong and we just couldn’t get a strong attack in gear. Some excellent saves by our goalie Sophie Jarrett who didn’t have a boring game. Lots to work on in training.
The final 1st XI home matchday of 2024. And what a match to finish it. To go all American, league leaders Guildford (8-0) are the visitors, to our impressive M1 (7-1) in a huge top-of-the-table clash. These two teams sure know how to find the back of the net, so here’s hoping for a big game with a positive result for the Blues!

Clifton started with intent, dominated the first quarter and deservedly took the lead after 7 minutes when …
An excellent game. The first half we found out feet with some defensive shorts but also some attacking shorts, two goals, learning to anticipate and shut down the oppo on a break and defend strong. More excellent play in the second half with strengthened passing and working together which led to more goals. Another amazing win to keep us on top of the league.

Wimbledon started brightly, moving the ball forward and looking for circle penetrations but the Clifton defence was strong and well-organized meaning chances were few. The best opportunities came for Wimbledon …
We travelled to Marlow with the bare 11 and rose to the challenge of a competitive match, never letting up or sitting on our laurels no matter how far ahead we got. An incredible display of teamwork and skill from everyone on the pitch – we totally earned the halftime Haribo. Now we move on to Round 3 in January. Martha Barratt (captain)
Strong game and a great comeback. Firebrands scored early with a drag flick, we then matched it, then Firebands scored again going into half time 2-1 down. Then we had an even stronger second half with some excellent passing, structure and press. Phil then took us up to 4-3 but then Firebrands equalised for a draw in the final few minutes. Really excellent game.
