Clifton Robinsons are very proud to be the only Hockey Club in the country, that had both its U12 Girls and Boys, compete at the England Hockey National Finals in Nottingham over the weekend.
The girls finished 5th and the boys finished 7th in the Top 10 Teams in the country.
The whole day was a wonderful experience for both teams, enjoyed as well by many parents who travelled to support the teams.
Ian King, coach for the boys U12s said:
“I am so proud of the teams this weekend and how they performed against some strong competition. They played some great hockey and have gained alot from the experience. Qualifying for Nationals is no mean feat and part of the reason our Juniors have done so well this season is down to the support of the local schools, who encourage the children to work hard and improve their hockey and skills in school, as well as attend clubs outside of school to further their skills. The teams achievements are a great boost for Junior Hockey in Bristol.”
Players for the Girls U12 Team came from Redmaids’ High (3), Redmaids’ High Juniors (1), Clifton College (3), Bristol Grammar School (1) and Clifton High (1), 3 of the players are in fact from our U11 Team which shows the level of talent we are seeing coming through our club.
