The women’s 1st went into the game knowing that a win would secure a top 8 place in Phase 3 of the season; UoB were a place behind CRHC so any slip could let UoB nearer the Top 8 play offs. On the road for the first time in Phase 2, Clifton created early chances but did not convert.  Near the end of the 1st Quarter UoB picked the ball on the right folowing a Clifton mistake and from the cross Coca Hall scored the opening goal: 1-0 Quarter 1 to UoB. UoB’s press caused Clifton some problems in the second quarter and the half time talk was about asking the players to trust their skills and ability, be patient, more movement for the pass and negate the high press. As the third quarter developed Clifton became more dominant and for the third game in a row Holly Munro scored a PC [47′]. 1-1 and all to play for. Cliftton continued to dominate although UoB had the odd incursion into the D and a couple of PCs. With just 2 minutes to go a ball was flashed across the UoB D and SJT streched to deflect the ball at high pace into the roof of the net. 2-1 to Clifton and 2 minutes away from a Top 8 finish! As the whistle went the players celebrated three wins from three, a Top 8 place and another hard fought and battling performance by the team! The chicken burgers and chips tasted even better for the win in the after match teas.
