6/11/21: CRHC 1 – 2 Team Bath Buccaneers

The Ladies’ 2s are still searching for their first win following a tightly contested match vs Bath Buccs on Saturday 6th November. A strike from Bath in the first 4 minutes went wide, as our defence responded robustly to continued pressure. Counterattack came hard and fast from Clifton, giving us a penalty corner in the 11th minute, but the Buccs defence denied us a conversion. An evenly matched second quarter saw both teams keep the …

Saturday’s match at Coombe Dingle was a game where both teams were looking to take away the three points with the hope climbing up the table. The whistle blew and Clifton Robinsons started the game on the front foot, with good build-up play to enter their attacking D, creating chances and winning some immediate penalty corners. Despite the pressure, Birmingham coped well, defending resolutely to keep the game goalless. Going into the second quarter, they …

6/11/21: Marlborough 0 – 5 CRHC

Fun fact of the day – the earliest sign of human habitation is the Marlborough Mound, a 62-foot-high (19 m) prehistoric tumulus in the grounds of Marlborough College where the game was held. The CRHC Ladies’ 2s faced a tough match away against Oxford Hawks 1st XI on Saturday 30th October. Within the first minute of the match, tactical play in the D gave Clifton a penalty corner, but – despite a powerful strike – the 2s were denied an early lead. 31/10/21: CRHC 1 – 2 Bristol University

It was a big game for the boys this week with Robinsons looking to keep their unbeaten start to a brilliant season against Bristol Uni in a top of the table clash. Reaching game day and tensions were high, settled only by Nicko’s tunes in the changing rooms and a big pre-match chat from Conor. The lads headed out onto the pitch to hear some questionable tunes from the Bristol Uni lads, who looked like …

30/10/21: Swansea 2s 1 – 11 CRHC

The day started early for the mighty Men’s 2s as they travelled to Swansea. The team welcomed Pete back after his cruise around the Irish Sea but sadly had to leave Minwaz on holiday abroad. This meant Captain Kirky had to step up. And step up he did. Ed Johnson stepped up from the 3s, nearly provided a perfect display in goal. A team talk to remember and fantastic warm up meant the boys were …
